Nurture.

Eat.

Life with a new baby can be all-encompassing. You may not have the energy to grab yourself a snack or you may be so tired that you even forget to eat. As your postpartum doula, I will make sure that you are well-fed. When you feed baby, I’ll be right by your side with a snack and a glass of water for you. I’ll create snack-stashes in the most convenient places (when hunger strikes during a 3am feed, you’ll be so glad to have a couple of nibbles in your bedside table, trust me.) Parenting a new babe is a lot of work and making sure you’re all well-fed is a top priority as your postpartum doula.

Sleep.

Remember how I just said life with a new baby can be all-encompassing? Well, that extends to sleep too. While I can’t promise that you’ll get 12 hours of sleep a night, I can guarantee that I will provide you with quiet space to catch up on some sleep. The exhaustion that comes with being a new parent isn’t forgiving, and it is vital to take time to rest. I’ll keep baby and older siblings safe and occupied while you catch some much needed zzz.

Relax.

Before baby, perhaps taking a bath or going to the washroom alone wasn’t your idea of “relaxing”; however, after baby, you may be craving these moments. If you’re a new mama, your body needs time to heal. I’ll help remind you to take it slowly and to listen to your body. As your postpartum doula, I’m here to help you take some well-deserved time for you.

Repeat.

It might seem silly to list repeat, but it’s important to establish routines of self-care after the arrival of a new baby. Remembering to eat, sleep, and take some time to relax is easier said than done with a newborn. As your postpartum doula, I’ll be there with you every step of the way.
